Mainstream, the Institute for Mature Adults,
offers several training options designed for mature adults who are
looking for work, switching fields or getting back into the job
market.
Perkins QuickBooks Training
Job Search Skills, Bookkeeping/Accounting Review
A 75-hour course over 7 weeks that provides 15
hours of job search training, 30 hours of bookkeeping and accounting
review and 30 hours of intro to QuickBooks. This program is
especially designed for mature adults 50+who are actively
looking for employment, have bookkeeping, accounting or financial
background and computer experience. Applicants who are accepted
into this program must attend an orientation session. This
program is sponsored by the Carl D. Perkins Vocational Training Act.
Operation Talent Bank
Excel, PowerPoint & Job
Search Skills Offered twice a semester, this is a 30-hour
course over 3 weeks that provides 15 hours of job search training
and 15 hours of computer training. The computer training includes
the basics of PowerPoint, Excel and how to use the Internet to find
a job. This program is designed for mature adults who are
comfortable using MS Word and Windows and has an emphasis on issues
affecting women who are switching jobs or re-entering the workforce.
This program is sponsored by the Women’s Research and Education Fund
in partnership with the Westchester County Office for Women.

Clinical Nurse Adjunct Instructor
Training A 65-hour training program designed for
experienced primary care nurses who want to become Clinical Nurse
Adjunct Instructors and supervise students in a wide range of
healthcare settings.
This program is offered in conjunction with the Department of
Nursing and includes 35 hours of classroom instruction and 30 hours
of practicum.
