IMMIGRANT STUDENTS AT WESTCHESTER COMMUNITY COLLEGE GAIN IMPORTANT SKILLS FOR
COLLEGE AND CAREERS Westchester Community College, the host for the national Community College
Consortium for Immigrant Education (CCCIE), is improving educational and
employment outcomes for immigrant students, including increased accessibility,
affordability, college degree or certificate completion, and job placements,
according to a new CCCIE report, Increasing Opportunities for Immigrant
Students: Community College Strategies for Success.

WESTCHESTER COMMUNITY COLLEGE RECEIVES $25,000 GRANT FROM CON EDISON
Con Edison has awarded a $25,000 grant to Westchester Community College to
expand the Con Edison Green Faculty Learning Community. First funded last year,
this is an ongoing effort to integrate sustainability throughout various
curricula at the college.

HARTSDALE RESIDENT NAMED SUNY DISTINGUISHED PROFESSOR
The State University of New York has named Westchester Community College
Professor Louis M. Rotando of Hartsdale, New York a distinguished service
professor. He is the seventh faculty member from the college to receive this
honor. This is the highest SUNY system designation conferred upon instructors.

WESTCHESTER COMMUNITY COLLEGE CHILDREN’S CENTER CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY
Westchester Community College’s Virginia Marx Children’s Center is commemorating
its 25th year of operation with a Saturday, April 30 celebration at 5:30 p.m. in
the college’s Gateway Center. Invitees will include friends of the college,
legislators, staff, faculty, and administrators along with current and former
college students who got their start in the facility.
